CoderDojo First Nations
Coding and Entrepreneurship Programs
Our mission is to inspire and empower First Nations Youth with coding skills, confidence and opportunities to achieve their dreams and create a better world for all who live in it. By engaging with CoderDojo First Nations and supporting First Nations Youth to learn how to code, we could help Close the Gap.
In 2016, more than half (53%) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were aged under 25 years. Furthermore, Indigenous employment sits at a low 48%. Through disempowerment and lack of opportunity, the Indigenous community in Australia has the highest rate of suicide of any community in the world.
By empowering First Nations Youth, we could help re-shape these statistics and our communities.
How it works?
CoderDojo First Nations partners with education organisations to run school-based Entrepreneurship and Coding programs for First Nations students or ALL students. If you would like to have CoderDojo First Nations at your school or in your community, please get in contact to discuss further.
CoderDojo First Nations is an initiative of Australia’s Indigenous business accelerator program, Barayamal – now known as a world leader in Indigenous Entrepreneurship.
